Like much of the latest album from Weird Al, this track is thick on taking a certain segment of society to task; this time, it’s the name-droppers of the world.
Some people may wonder how Weird Al has remained so relevant for 30+ years, but he’s fully embraced the world of social media and how it has affected our general view on the world. Mandatory Fun, more so than any other Weird Al album, serves as an excellent capsule for the current landscape of our society, and with that in mind, it’s no surprise that this could be the most successful album of his career.
