And it’s not just his greatest original song, but a track better than even his best parodies (even if this one has at times been described as a style parody of They Might Be Giants).
Coming from the album Bad Hair Day, “Everything You Know is Wrong” is a twisted, random and hilarious song. The thing about Weird Al is that many of his jokes are right on the nose, pretty much a must in parody. So it’s not too often that he’s been able to let his absurd nature fly so unhinged, and “Everything You Know is Wrong” is the quintessential track of that element of Weird Al’s talent.
It’s also catchy as hell, and a song that makes a whole lot more sense as I’ve gotten older.
