HILL VALLEY, Calif. – According to eyewitness reports from local residents, an unidentified flying object was seen appearing and disappearing in the sky at different periods Wednesday, each time followed by what one witness called “fire trails.”
“That thing was fast, too,” said local dealership owner Goldie Wilson III. “Had to be going 80, 90 miles an hour.”
Described as metallic and rectangular in shape, the object reportedly featured unusual, blue glowing lights and several jutting, undetermined mechanical parts. Local lore indicates it could be the same vehicle claimed to have been seen throughout Hill Valley’s history, with sightings ranging from the 1950s to the 1980s, and at least one dating back to the 1880s.
But some have speculated that these modern reports may in fact be a publicity stunt for local science fiction author George McFly’s new novel, The Space-Time Chronicles. Reached for comment, McFly stated he is a “firm believer in extraterrestrial contact.”
And while one elderly man dismissed the claims as “a lot of bunk from a bunch of slackers,” at least one resident is confident he knows what he saw.
“It was a flying DeLorean, and I haven’t seen one of those in thirty years,” said retired auto detailer Biff Tannen.
