Hello, and welcome back to school! Please make sure your child comes prepared to my class with the following supplies on their first day 🙂
One (1) Box of #2 Pencils
We use pencils in my class, which will help us as we learn to write in cursive this year! Pencils are also a great way to teach students the value of learning from past mistakes and the importance of correcting them.
One (1) Pencil Pouch/Box
Can’t have pencils without a pencil pouch!
Three (3) Wide-Ruled Notebooks
These will be handy for students looking to keep track of who is and isn’t harassing them at school, as we continue to face what seems to be a never-ending bullying problem.
Also, extra sunshine stickers are given to the student who is voted to have the most creative notebook in class 🙂
Four (4) Glue Sticks
We use glue sticks a lot during our art classes, like when we make our snowflake ornaments just before winter break!
Two (2) Boxes of Anti-bacterial Wipes
Each student should come with two boxes of anti-bacterial wipes to help try and contain the inevitable spread of deadly diseases since we live in a state that allows parents to send children to school unvaccinated due to their “philosophical beliefs.”
Plus, these will be super useful during our “Spring Cleaning Extravaganza” party in March!
One (1) Packed Lunch Box
It’s always fun when everyone gets to show off their cool lunch boxes!
Another Packed Lunch Box
I request that every student able to come with an additional packed lunch do so. These extras will be given to those students who go without food most evenings after leaving school.
Plus it never hurts to have an extra pudding cup at lunch to trade 😉
One (1) Red Pocket Folder
This will serve as your child’s take-home homework folder.
One (1) Blue Pocket Folder
This folder will come in super handy for holding your child’s birth certificate, social security card and any other forms of verifiable government identification, as ICE agents will be detaining students to and from school, looking to arrest and deport any and all undocumented immigrant students.
Also, having an extra folder for schoolwork never hurts either!
One (1) Pack of Non-Permanent Markers
We have coloring time every afternoon! Don’t be afraid to get a big pack of them 😉
Three (3) Packs of Assorted Construction Paper
Construction paper will be used to make “Please Save Us” signs to display in the windows of our classroom during any potential school shooting since our district is STILL struggling to figure out how to best keep us safe!
We will also be making paper turkeys in November to celebrate Thanksgiving 🙂
One (1) Hope and One (1) Prayer
Just a little tongue-in-cheek humor 😉
(But seriously, we’re going to need hopes and prayers at this point if we all plan to make it out of here alive)
Let’s have a great year!
