HOUSTON – In the middle of Thursday night’s Democratic debate, frontrunner and former vice president Joe Biden suddenly appeared lucid and screamed that he was not well to a packed audience.
“This isn’t right!” Biden shouted with notable clarity, interrupting Andrew Yang during a response on the economy. “Why are you people letting me go through with this?!”
Though no one on stage responded to Biden’s outburst, audience members after the debate remarked on Biden’s “coherence” and “articulate yelling,” noting that it was refreshing to see the former Vice President show the same panicked emotion they feel on a day-to-day basis.
“Look, there’s gonna be lots of times Joe Biden won’t know where he is in the next four years. And there’s gonna be lots of times he knows something is quite wrong, but will struggle to convey it,” said Doug Kenmore of Michigan. “It’s important we see what that’s going to be like before we cast our vote.”
“Frankly, I find it refreshing that he’s telling it like is,” added Carol Wickly of Texas. “He came right out and admitted he was tortured by his state of mind. I want a president who isn’t afraid to admit he was walking along the side of the highway and had no idea how he got there.”
Reached for comment about the incident, President Trump responded, “Lucid? Wow, no – you wouldn’t catch me like – I hear that’s very common for him, the way his brain is. Lots of people have said that. Many. Big Joe. Big Joe Biden. Can’t win, believe me. We’re gonna make a lot of people happy.”
At press time, Joe Biden had received an additional $47 million in campaign contributions.
