With a lack of live crowds at sporting events to entertain, Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty has had to find other ways to monetize his weird persona, and is now enjoying quick success on OnlyFans, the content subscription service mainly used by porn stars.
Fear not, however, as Gritty is well aware of his PG persona, and his content reflects that.
His inaugural post is a video of him eating popcorn for fifteen minutes while stadium music plays in the background. This is largely what Gritty’s subsequent content has been like, with footage of him also falling down on ice, making his googly eyes go in any direction you want, and streaking throughout his neighborhood – while social distancing and wearing a mask, of course.
Unsurprisingly, Gritty has been on the site for less than a week and already has been propelled into the top 0.01% of creators. This means he has more subscribers than even the most prolific creators, including Cardi B and Bella Thorne.
He even offers exclusive previews via DMs hidden behind a paywall, and he gives subscribers more than their money’s worth by offering behind-the-scenes looks into some of his best moments, such as his famous “Goodnight, Internet” photoshoot where he channelled his inner Kim Kardashian and subsequently broke the internet.
You can find him by searching his handle, @ItMeGritty. And for those who’d like to gift their loved ones with personalized Gritty content, his team has stated he will announce his Cameo debut later this week.
