A few days ago we announced our new “Team Member of the Month” initiative, and we announced the first selectee would be Ryan. Unfortunately, Ryan died gracefully the very next day when he rocketed into the ground from 4,000 feet up.
During the services and all throughout meetings today where we were trying to figure out if anyone other than Ryan knows how to keep the site online, Walt continuously asked what this means for the team member of the month. He insisted that we can’t have a deceased person be our first ever reward recipient, and also that “since it’s still the same month, you can re-pick. That should be in the rules. That as long as it’s in the same month, you can do a re-pick and it would basically be the same as if you had picked the new pick first.”
We agree the team could use a morale boost right now, and having a framed photo of Ryan on the wall forever forward could be kind of a bummer. Even after we relented, Walt wanted to add that “it’s also not like a second choice or like a runner-up or vice president thing. The newly picked person is technically the only person chosen that month.”
We want everyone to join us in congratulating Walt on being April’s team member of the month.
We also want to use this as an opportunity to announce that we will be disbanding the team member of the month program.
