Rex Tillerson is the 69th Secretary of State (nice), but it’s sure starting to feel like he won’t be for much longer. The beginning of the end for the 69th Secretary of State (nice) in United States history came a couple months ago, when Tillerson didn’t really deny that he’s been calling President Trump a moron and probably a lot of better, funnier things behind his back.
Tillerson, who is the 69th Secretary of State (nice), even called a press conference to say that he wasn’t resigning despite rumors to the contrary, and it felt like that was that. But kind of out of nowhere, there was some momentum to a news story this week that said Trump was planning to ouster Tillerson and replace him with CIA Director Mike Pompeo, who would then be replaced by one of Trump’s ultimate sycophants, Republican senator Tom Cotton.
But Trump, who always wants to make sure he’s the Big Boy President who CALLS ALL THE SHOTS, tweeted that Tillerson isn’t leaving. So as usual, the administration appears to be running like a well-oiled machine.
However, there is plenty of evidence to suggest the 69th Secretary of State (nice) and Trump hardly ever see eye-to-eye and that his ouster is pretty much inevitable, which kind of just makes me shrug. Tillerson has been, by all accounts, god-awful at his job and has been instrumental in dismantling the United States’ diplomatic role in the world. But I’d venture to guess that any replacement of his would be somewhere between just as bad to ten times worse, and likely far more malicious. Plus, Tillerson is DEFINITELY running around calling Trump a moron, a dumbass, a tiny-handed pencil-dick – all sorts of good stuff that I need to keep hearing from people within the administration.
The ride of the 69th Secretary of State (nice) seems to be nearing its quick end, but man, what a ride it’s been.
