Hey everyone, Jeremy here.
Big things are happening at Robot Butt, at both a company level and a personal level. For starters, the Robot Butt management team (or “the brain trust” as I like to call them) left today on what appears to be a pretty huge meeting. They’ve been teasing it for a few weeks now, though they haven’t given me many details other than it being a “big opportunity.” Sometimes, I just hear everybody laughing uproariously in the main conference room, for hours at a time, so I assume whatever is on the horizon has to be fantastic.
Secondly, this means they left me in charge of the office. That’s right, it’s just me here until the end of the day, or so I would think. No one really told me anything, but I guess I’ll know when the day is all said and done. I’ve been left alone before – these guys are always hustling, looking for new material, finding leads and building the business side of the company. It’s really inspiring to watch.
As I watch them leave from a big, bright window in the office, I can’t help but think how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time. I’m really getting an in-depth look at how the publishing world works and I think this could be an opportunity to get more of my content posted on the site. I feel like I have so many ideas for new features, and I really think I can make a great contribution to the team. Hopefully, when the internship is over (which, oddly, I’m not entirely sure when that is), I will have a portfolio I can be proud of.
For now, I’m just going to enjoy the present.
